Künker sale 335, lot 3361

This specimen was lot 3361 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$7,852 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUGSBURG, STADT, 1/2 Guldentaler (30 Kreuzer) 1573, mit Titel Maximilians II. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, city of Augsburg, half gulden thaler of 1573, in the name of Maximilian II. Very rare, especially in this quality. Handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This issue accompanied a gulden thaler of the same date.
