Sincona sale 9, lot 4900

This specimen was lot 4900 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$759 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Auersperg Wilhelm, 1800-1822. Konventionstaler 1805, Wien. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Auersperg, William, 1800-22, convention thaler of 1805, Vienna mint, uncirculated.)"

This is the only issue from this locality during the nineteenth century and is likely a commemorative.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 28,02 g.
