This specimen was lot 3152 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 600 (about US$791 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Konventionstaler 1801. Wien Vorzüglich. (bishopric of Gurk, convention thaler of 1801, Vienna mint. Extremely fine.)"
This is the only thaler from this locality during the nineteenth century and is likely a commemorative. Gurk, formerly the seat of a bishopric, lies in Carinthia.
Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
