This specimen was lot 950 in Sedwick sale 34 (Winter Park, FL, November 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Argentina (struck at the Madrid Mint), proof 5 pesos, 2021, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo. Frosty and flawless, tied with two others for finest in NGC census among just four submissions so far." The current Argentine peso was introduced in 1992 with a value equal to one US dollar or 10,000 australes or ten trillion pesos of 1970. This five pesos accompanies gold ten pesos on the same topic. At the current rate of exchange (November 2023), this coin has a face value of about one half US cent.
