This specimen was lot 20383 in Heritage sale 3008 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $977.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Rio de la Plata 4 Reales 1813-J Potosí, XF45 NGC, boldly detailed including a strong sunface, lightly double-struck on the reverse, most notably on the 3 of the date. Very scarce type in this pleasing grade." This specimen was offered again as lot 20172 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $805. This type was struck 1813-1815 and is scarcer than the accompanying eight reales. Other four soles were issued in 1815 (KM 13) and 1828-32 (KM 22).
