This specimen was lot 6677 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €190 (about US$249 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"GERMAN COINS SINCE 1871, REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, ANHALT. Friedrich II. 1904-1918. 3 Mark 1909. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Anhalt, Frederick II, 1904-18, three mark of 1909, about uncirculated.)"
The three mark was roughly equal to the old thaler. This type was struck at Berlin in 1909 and 1911. Coin issues ceased at the start of World War One and the kingdom was abolished with the collapse of the Empire in 1918.
Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus proofs.
