Anhalt-Bernburg 1741-IIG ducat Fr-20
This specimen was lot 3554 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,455 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ANHALT-BERNBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Victor Friedrich, 1721-1765. Dukat 1741, Stolberg. GOLD. Leicht gewellt, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Anhalt-Bernburg, Victor Frederick, 1721-65, ducat of 1741, Stolberg mint. Slightly bent, a few edge flaws, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for six dates ranging 1730-61 and is fairly scarce but not rare. It is one of three different ducats issued from this locale during the eighteenth century.
