This specimen was lot 23502 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[1] noted, "Socialist Republic gold 100 Leke 1968, PR66 DCAM PCGS, peasant girl in national dress." This non-circulating legal tender commemorative was probably struck in Italy as Albania has no facilities for such a thing.

Specification: 19.75 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.571 oz AGW.
