This specimen was lot 867 in Goldberg sale 55 (Beverly Hills, October 2009), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "Albania. 20 Francs, 1926-R. Zog I, 1925-1939. Bust of Skanderberg. Reverse: Winged lion. NGC graded MS-65." This type was struck for Albania 1926-27 at the Rome mint to the standard of the French 20 francs d'or, even tho France had ceased striking such coins in 1914. In 1939, Mussolini occupied Albania, ending its brief fling with independence.
