This specimen was lot 74126 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN. Rupee, AH 1315 (1897). Abdur Rahman. PCGS MS-63. A beaming Choice example of this relatively uncommon Rupee type, alive with swirling luster and accentuated by drizzles of fiery orange toning about the peripheries." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was also struck AH 1314.
