This specimen was lot 74416 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN. 1/2 Rupee, AH 1308 (1890). Abdur Rahman. PCGS MS-62. A sharp and lustrous silver minor. From the Richard Margolis Collection." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was struck AH 1308-1310 and has a low catalog value. Ten rupees made a tilla.
