This specimen was lot 1436 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Abdur Rahman, 1880-1901, AE paisa, Kabul, AH1309, broader size (24mm), weight remained the same, but later issues, starting in AH1309, were thicker and narrower, VF-XF, RRR, ex Hakim Hamidi Collection." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). Several paisa were struck in AH 1309; this one at 24 mm, KM 801 (scarce) at 20 mm and KM 802 (common) at 21-21.5 mm diameter
