This specimen was lot 1716 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,340 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AACHEN, STADT, Dukat 1753, mit Titel von Franz I. GOLD. RR Winz. Henkelspur, vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Aachen, ducat of 1753, struck in the name of Francis I. Rare, small mount mark, extremely fine.)"

The city of Aachen, on the border between Germany and the Netherlands, issued no thalers during the eighteenth century.
