Cuba 1933 peso

This type was struck in the United States for Cuba 1915-16 and 1932-34 using silver dollar blanks. Most were held in government vaults as backing for paper currency and later melted; the original mintage has little bearing on the number of survivors. This date isn't too rare. All 1933's exhibit the "low relief star"; compare with the 1915 peso.

Recorded mintage: 5,000,000.

Specification: 26.73 g, .900 fine silver, .773 troy oz AGW, reeded edge, 38 mm diameter.
