Costa Rica 1926 2 colones

This type was struck for Costa Rica in 1897, 1900 and 1915-26. A similar design featuring the bust of Christopher Colombus appeared on the gold five, ten and twenty colones, all of which are much scarcer than the denomination shown here. Costa Rica officially switched from the peso to the colon in 1897, which currency was reformed again in 1917 and 1920.
