This specimen was lot 55683 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hesse-Cassel. Taler, 1627-TS. Cassel Mint. Wilhelm V. PCGS Genuine--Graffiti, EF Details. From the Collection of Richard Evans Norton (1872-1946)." This type was struck 1627 only and is rare. It is one of several issued in 1627 (Dav-6723, -6728, Dav-6729, -6731, -6732, Dav-6733, -6734, -6735 (shown here)).
