Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 78490

This specimen was lot 78490 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Ore, 1653. Stockholm Mint. Christina. PCGS EF-45. From the Richard August Collection." This billon öre was struck for queen Cristina 1633-37, 1650 and 1653. Copper öre (KM 162) also exist for 1653. Eight öre made a mark and six mark made a riksdaler.

Recorded mintage: 407,417, a common date.

Specification: 1.23 g, 0.375 fine silver, 18.2 mm diameter.
