Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 76083

This copper ten réis was issued in Portugal for Angola. This specimen was lot 76083 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description^[1] noted, "ANGOLA. 10 Reis, 1753. Lisbon Mint. Jose I. PCGS VF-35. From the Richard August Collection." It was struck 1752-53 and 1757 in Lisbon and varieties exist. The 1753 is the most common date.

Recorded mintage: 396,737 for all dates.
