Solothurn 1623 batzen KM-12
This specimen was lot 5461 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 2,750 CHF (about US$4,145 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. Solothurn. Stadt und Kanton. Batzen 1623, Solothurn. Klippe, altvergoldet, im ungefähr dreifachen Gewicht. Von grosser Seltenheit. Fassungsspuren. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, klippe batzen of 1623, Solothurn mint, struck in triple weight. Of high rarity, traces of mounting and gilding, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1623-24 in klippe format along with KM 9 in round format. The klippe isn't that rare but this example is triple weight.
