This specimen was lot 3749 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €6,250 (about US$8,424 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN-SAALFELD, HERZOGTUM, Johann Ernst VIII. 1680-1729. Dukat 1727, Saalfeld. Ausbeute der Reichmannsdorfer Gruben. GOLD. RR Winz. Kratzer, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Preussag Collection, Part I. Auktion London Coin Galleries/Künker 1, London 2015, Nr. 418. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Saalfeld, John Ernest VIII, 1680-1729, ducat of 1727, Saalfeld mint, for the mines. Rare, light scratch, very fine to extremely fine.)"
