Fribourg 1806 batzen

Sincona sale 47, lot 2711

This specimen was lot 2711 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$840 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Batzen 1806. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. (city and canton of Fribourg, batzen of 1806. Very rare in this condition, Good extremely fine.)"

This one year type is rather scarce. Forty batzen made a thaler.
