Stack's Bowers November 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72290

This specimen was lot 72290 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Silver 2 Onzas, 2004-Mo. Mexican (Potosi) Mint. UNCIRCULATED. A vibrant and well made silver issue with satin luster and sharp details." This two ounce Libertad was introduced in 1996 and struck at least until 2012. Later dates exist but are not mentioned in the SCWC. It was not a popular size and mintages are low.

Recorded mintage: 8,000 plus 1,000 proofs.

Specification: 62.20 g, 0.999 fine silver, 2.000 troy oz ASW, 48 mm diameter.
