This specimen was lot 3627 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. Ducat, 1838-A. Ferdinand I. Obverse scratches. Extremely Fine." This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna (shown here), Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
