This specimen was lot 24127 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. Kilkenny 1/2 Penny, ND (1642-43). Charles I (1625-49). PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder. The great Rebellion. Confederate Catholics, Kilkenny issue. Exceptional for this normally very crude issue. Good strike showing considerable detail, nice even chocolate brown patina and quite attractive. From the Brighton Collection. Ex: Spink, Numismatic Circular, May 1970."
