Stack's Bowers 2024 NYINC sale, lot 55471

This specimen was lot 55471 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $750. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 30 Dollars (Kilo), 2013. Perth Mint. Elizabeth II. GEM UNCIRCULATED. Koala series." This denomination was also used for the Year of the Snake (KM 1834, 1972, 2099) and the silver kookaburra (KM 1987), each one kilogram of silver. Since 1989, Australia has entered the bullion and collectibles market in a big way, having produced commemoratives and NCLT's numbering in the hundreds of types.

Specification: 1000 g, 0.999 fine silver, 100 mm diameter, 32.15 troy oz ASW.
