Bohemia 1642 thaler Dav-3208
This specimen was lot 4218 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$772 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Taler 1642. Joachimsthal Münzmeister David Knobloch. Selten. Sehr schön. Henkelspur. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1642, Joachimsthal mint, mintmaster David Knobloch. Rare, Very fine, mount removed.)"
The SCWC lists this type of 1639-43 as rather scarce but not rare. A similar type was issued from Kuttenberg (Dav-3212).
