Utrecht 1619 rijksdaalder Dav-4836
This specimen was lot 534 in Schulman auction 379 (Amsterdam, June 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"UTRECHT Provincie 1581 - 1795. Nederlandse rijksdaalder. 1619, Silver Type Ia. Geparelde binnencirkels. Gelauwerd borstbeeld met zwaard en wapenschild aan lint naar rechts, titel ...CONFO. BELG. TRAIEC. stadsschild. Kz. generaliteitswapen tussen jaartal. Fraai +. (province of Utrecht, silver Dutch rixdollar of 1619, type Ia, with pearled inner circles. Obverse: laureate bust right with sword, supporting the provincial arms on a ribbon; reverse: arms of the Generality divides the date. Fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1591-1600, 1606-25, 1629-31, 1648, 1652 and 1687-88. Overdates abound.
