This specimen was lot 6151 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Newfoundland. Cent, 1880. NGC MS-63 BN. Wide 0. Sharply struck, tawny obverse tone with vibrant reverse luster." Several varieties (wide 0 and narrow 0) exist for this date. The type was struck in London and Birmingham for the colony of Newfoundland 1865-96.

Recorded mintage: 400,000.
