Sincona sale 79, lot 1193

This specimen was lot 1193 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 7,000 CHF (about US$8,390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, William III. and Mary, 1689-1694. Guinea 1692, London. Conjoined busts, with elephant below. Rare. NGC AU53." This type was struck 1689-94 with (shown here) and without (Fr-303) the elephant and castle symbol below the busts.
