Sincona sale 82, lot 1687

This specimen was lot 1687 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,472 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "William III. and Mary, 1689-1694. 1/2 Guinea 1692, London. Conjoined busts. NGC XF Details. Leicht gereinigt (Lightly cleaned)." This type was struck without symbol (shown here, issued 1691-94), with an elephant and castle (KM 476.2) and with an elephant only (KM 476.3). All are rare but this one is the most available.
