The first specimen was lot 1756 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA: AR peso, 1895. Bright white except a few small areas of light toning near rims, NGC graded MS65." This type was minted in Guatemala in large numbers 1894-97 with help from the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England. It is the last in a series of seated liberty designs beginning in 1872. They were struck to displace the Chilean pesos and Peruvian soles counterstamped in 1894.

Recorded mintage: 1,415,000 plus 375,000 from Heaton.

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-210.
