This coin is a one year type issued to commemorate the ninetieth birthday of the Prince Regent of Bavaria, Ludwig. After his nephew's death in 1913, he ruled as king until the collapse of the Second Reich in 1918. This type, accompanied by silver three and five mark pieces, is common.

Recorded mintage: 640,000.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, .321 troy oz AGW.
