Revision as of 16:10, 27 February 2025 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "* [[Great Britain 1913 half penny" to "* 1913 third farthing * [[Great Britain 1913 half penny")
This specimen was lot 2441 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it sold for $84. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Penny, 1913. George V. Mint state. A scarcer date in the popular Penny series. NGC graded MS-64+ Red and Brown." This penny was introduced on the accession of George V in 1911 and retained the Britannia reverse first used in 1860. None were made 1923-25. Persistent striking problems caused modifications to the bust in 1926 and again in 1928 tho all the circulating denominations were similarly afflicted. This is a better date altho the mintage is not low.
Recorded mintage: 65,497,000.
Specification: 9.40 g, bronze, 31 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: S.4051; KM-810.
