Great Britain 1913 1/3 farthing

This one-third farthing was struck for use in Malta. Being of the homeland type, it is collected with British coins and being the only issue of this denomination for George V, brings more than an otherwise obscure colonial coin. This denomination was previously struck in 1885 and 1902. As the second lowest value British coin, it was 1/12 of a penny, 1/144 of a shilling and 1/2,880 of a pound.

Recorded mintage: 288,000.

Specifications: 0.95 g, bronze, 15.3 mm diameter, plain edge.
