This type was struck 1925-30 and 1933-35. A brief spike in silver prices forced the mint to issue bronze ten centavos (KM 430) in 1935, after which a copper-nickel piece (KM 432) was introduced. As it takes 26 of these to make an ounce of silver, it's hard to trade these for bullion.
Recorded mintage: 3,500,000.
Specification: 1.66 g, 0.720 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-431.
