This specimen was lot 1573 in Sincona sale 82 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$4,283 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth I. 1558-1603. 1/4 Angel n. d. (1580-1581), Tower Mint. Fifth issue. Mintmark "Long cross". Selten (Rare). NGC AU Details. Kleiner Kratzer auf der Vorderseite (Small scratch on obverse)." This quarter angel was tariffed at one shilling and eight pence (one twelfth of a pound).
