This specimen was lot 75015 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, 1580. London Mint; mm: Latin cross. Elizabeth I. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, EF Details. Rather well struck on a decent flan, this piece affords ample detail. Signs of a long ago cleaning are difficult to detect because of pale dove gray a, amber, and charcoal patina that have since repopulated the surfaces. On the whole quite an appealing piece that is bound to excite Elizabethan specialists."
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.02 g, 0.925 fine silver.
