This specimen was lot 34031 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $11,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Provincial gold 10 Stuivers (1/2 Gulden) 1756 MS62 Prooflike NGC, Struck to a 3 Ducat weight. An always coveted off-metal striking in gold, especially when encountered with a rarely assigned and fully deserving Prooflike designation. Distinguished by ample mirroring and prominent die polish, with Pallas especially crisp. A clear conditional and aesthetic outlier for the series and one worthy of additional consideration. From the Coenen Collection." The silver version was struck 1748-51 and 1761-62 but seems to have been less popular than the more available one gulden. The gold version is listed for 1734, 1748-49, 1752-56; all dates are extremely rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: regular issue: 5.30 g, .920 fine silver; presentation version: 10.5 g, 0.986 fine gold. This specimen is 10.42 g.

Catalog reference: KM 95 (silver), KM 95a (gold), Delm- 810 (R1).
