This specimen was lot 31071 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $5,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Provincial gold Off-Metal 6 Stuivers 1756 MS63 PCGS, A gold striking of the silver 6 Stuivers struck to 2 Ducat weight. An already very elusive gold striking, with this particular date appearing to be particularly elusive--no other examples having come to auction in recent decades, and this seeming to be the sole certified representative. Mislabeled on the holder as West Friesland." The circulation issue (KM 45) was struck in debased silver but none were made in 1756. The gold issue (KM 45a) was struck to double ducat weight 1702-94, most likely for presentation. Other minors, including the two stuivers, were also struck in gold.

Recorded mintage: silver: none; gold: unknown.

Specification: KM 45: 4.95 g, 0.583 fine silver; KM 45a: 7 g, 0.986 fine gold.

Catalog reference: KM 45a, PW-Ho74.2, Delm-816 (R1).
