This centavo piece was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1886-87 and 1895-98. It It overlapped a copper two centavos (KM 147a) struck 1878-94. Overdates abound and many are listed for 1898. The mintage reported below is probably a misprint for 2,177,000.

Recorded mintage: 21,770,000.
