Stephen Album sale 50, lot 1233

This specimen was lot 1233 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN: Haakon VII, 1905-1957, AR 50 öre, 1906, an incredible example, PCGS graded MS67. The finest graded at PCGS." The king of Sweden in 1906 was Oscar II, not Haakon VII, who was later the first king of independent Norway. This two year type is fairly common in circulated condition.

Recorded mintage: 319,452.

Specification: 5 g, 0.600 fine silver, 22 mm diameter.
