Mint Error -- Struck Through Obverse -- 1/4 Anna, 1929-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. NGC MS-64 Red. A very attractive mint error that offers clear evidence of the strike through on the obverse. Blazing mint red adorns this piece, making it one of the finest examples of the type, error or otherwise." This quarter anna was struck at the Calcutta mint after World War One. The type was struck 1912-36 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. The Bombay mint also struck this type but only in 1924-28, 1930 and 1936. A quarter anna was one sixty fourth of a rupee.
