Stephen Album internet sale 28, lot 1225

This specimen was lot 1225 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $84. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN: Karl XIV, 1818-1844, AE 1/6 skilling banco, 1836, a wonderful example, PCGS graded MS64 RB." This type was struck 1835-40 and 1843-44 and represents an 50% reduction in weight from the prior type (KM 634). An 1836/5 overdate exists but is awarded no premium.

Recorded mintage: 1,498,000, including the overdate.

Specification: 1.4 g, copper, 16.1 mm diameter.
