This specimen was lot 36589 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Skilling, 1836. Carl XIV Johan. NGC MS-66 Brown. The finest certified example at NGC with the brown designation." Prior to the reform of 1830, 48 skilling = one riksdaler; after 1830, 128 skilling = one riksdaler specie. As a result the weight was reduced from 28.3 g to 11.3 g. This is a common date of a type struck 1835-43. The denomination was terminated in 1855.
