This token is not considered a Conder token, being issued after Conder wrote his book, but is often included with them as part of the vast array of British private tokens issued before the Royal mint was reformed in 1816. Wikipedia comments, "Launceston is a town, ancient borough, and civil parish in Cornwall, England. It is 1 mile west of the middle stage of the River Tamar, which constitutes almost the entire border between Cornwall and Devon."
