This type is recorded for 1726-40 and is among the more common gold coins of the ancien régime of France. This is a product of the Lyon mint.

Recorded mintage: 17,136, fairly common[1].

Specification: 8.15 g, 0.917 fine gold, reeded edge, designed by Norbert Roëttiers.
