This specimen was lot 74864 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Warwickshire. Birmingham. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1793. PCGS MS-64 Brown. Edge: CURRENT EVERY WHERE. Featuring the figure of a nude boy (Mercury?) standing slightly right, holding wand (caduceus?) and leaning upon screw press, this near-Gem glistens with tremendous brilliance and flair."
