Goldberg sale 75, lot 3371

This specimen was lot 3371 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $718.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guatemala. 4 Pesos, 1869-R. Head of Carrera. NGC graded MS-62." In 1869, gold five, ten, eight, 16 and twenty pesos pieces were struck in addition to the four pesos shown here. The five pesos is the most common.

Recorded mintage: 20,000.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.875 fine gold, .190 troy oz AGW.
