This specimen was lot 71429 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA. 1/2 Real, 1869. NGC MS-64+. This sparkling little near-Gem minor exhibits bold well-formed devices with smooth satiny surfaces." This type was struck 1867-69.

Recorded mintage: 117,000 (with and without assayer "R").

Specification: 1.55 g, 0.903 fine silver.
