from the Stack's Bowers 2017 NYINC sale, lot 6745

This specimen was lot 6745 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. 1/2 Taler, 1830-A. Vienna Mint. NGC Unc Details--Surface Hairlines. SCARCE one year type. Showing no signs of circulation wear and only a few small contact marks, some adjustment marks on reverse. Hairlines are present, confined to the obverse fields. Light translucent toning throughout. From the Mezo-Toth Kalman Collection." This type was struck 1830 only. It is expensive but less so than KM 420.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver, .375 troy oz ASW.
